Air Cooled Condenser

Air Cooled Condenser

Description

The Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC) System is the main heat sink for the OPEN100 Plant and does not release any steam or water to the environment. The steam exhausting from the turbine is transferred through a large duct to the ACC units where it is condensed to water as air is pulled across coils by large axial fans. Condensate is collected in a storage tank and non-condensable gases are removed from the system by liquid ring vacuum pumps that discharge to the atmosphere.
