Description

The Feedwater Heating System includes two pumps that are each capable of providing the flow needed to support full load operation for the plant. The two pumps draw suction from the deaerator storage tank and operate at variable speed to maintain flow. Where larger PWRs have several, the OPEN100 feedwater is forwarded through a single high-pressure feedwater heater to raise its temperature prior to its introduction into the steam generator shell in order to improve plant efficiency.
