Reactor Coolant System

Reactor Coolant System

Description

The Reactor Coolant System (RCS) is the set of equipment where energy produced in the reactor is transferred to convert high pressure water into steam. Where the piping system in the larger plant RCS systems use a stainless steal pipe cladding to resist wear and corrosion, the OPEN100 RCS will use 316L material as its base metal. The smaller size of the piping needed for the OPEN100 is available with 316L in seamless pipe, which will provide superior corrosion resistance at less cost.
