Instrument Air

The instrument air system produces 125 psig air that is used for controls in plant systems and for plant air used in maintenance activities. The two air compressor trains can each supply the total air needs for the plant. Conditioning equipment on each compressor line produces an oil free, dry air suitable for reliable instrument air service. As with other PWR plants, accumulators are installed on critical service components to ensure air is available when needed.
