Description
Internals
The reactor internals are comprised of two main components, the upper and lower core support structures. Like most PWRs the upper structure includes the top support plate, upper core plate with support columns and control drive components. The lower support structure includes the lower support plate, core barrel, and core baffle which ties the vertical load from the core into the reactor flange and deflects the flow of the reactor coolant up through the core.
