Pressurizer

The pressurizer is installed in the RCS and maintains the system pressure at a level that prevents boiling in the reactor core. It is vertically mounted and filled with water and steam. The pressurizer includes electric heaters to build and maintain the pressure in the RCS loop during operation and transients. The pressurizer's relative size is larger in OPEN100 than those in current PWRs such to tolerate a wide range of transient conditions without significant operational variations.
